Jeff was born in Hampton, Virginia; grew up near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; moved to London in 2004.

Jeff studied music at the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts (now University of the Arts) and received his bachelor in Music and Music Education. He studied saxophone with William Zaccagni, flute with Adeline Tomasone, jazz theory and improvisation with Larry McKenna and arranging/orchestration with Evan Solot.

In Philadelphia, Jeff performed as a featured artist with the Al Raymond Big Band, the Walter Jay WPEN Radio Big Band, the Triple Threat Quartet, the Valley Forge Music Fair Orchestra and Mickey Rooney's Downingtown Inn Theatre Orchestra. As a freelance musician Jeff has performed with Lou Rawls, Mel Lewis, Dave Liebman, Urbie Green, Brian Pastor Big Band, Ray Anthony Orchestra, Buddy DeFranco, Joan Rivers, Bobby Rydell and Robert Merrill.

In London, Jeff has been performing with the BBC Radio Big Band, Pete Cater Big Band, Hot Orange Big Band, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Ted Heath Orchestra, Jay Craig Big Band, Jimmy Cannon Big Band, Soho Jazz Orchestra, Miles Davis Project Band and the London Jazz Collective.

Jeff's group SAXON has been performing in London and has been receiving excellent reviews. They feature Jeff's original music, standard jazz classics and now vocals from JOAN VISKANT.

It has received national airplay throughout the USA on jazz radio and the BBC in the UK.
